One Firefighter Dead and Others Injured Fighting Blaze at Movie Theatre

-One firefighter is dead and four others are injured after a fire gutted the historic Abbotsford Theatre.
Abbotsford Fire Department responded to Abby Theater located at 209 N 1st Street, Abbotsford to a structure fire at noon on Sunday. Immediately a call for mutual aid was requested from Colby, Owen-Withee, Curtiss and Dorchester Fire Departments.
During the initial fire suppression the roof collapsed trapping three fire fighters inside. One firefighter was fatally injured and later died Sunday evening. Name is being withheld pending notification of family. The others were injured by falling bricks, but were treated and released Sunday evening. No one else was harmed and no other buildings caught fire.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation and the following agencies are assisting in the investigation: State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation- State Fire Marshal’s Office and the United States Department of Justice- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
