The Drug Lady Visits Neillsville

-The drug lady is coming to Neillsville.
No, not that kind of drug lady. Although, Sue Nowak does talk about the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse and she does it with one of the most frightening age groups, teenagers.
Her presentation tonight at the Neillsville High School auditorium will focus on tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, energy drinks, synthetics and other new drug trends. She will also let parents know how to spot the warning signs if their child is using and what they can do about it.
She's spent years building relationships with teens, who in turn have shared their alcohol and drug behaviors with her. She takes that information to community leaders in an effort to prevent lives from spiraling out of control.
"My goal is to get them to start changing their behaviors," Nowak said. "We all want to feel like we're valued. We want to feel like we're important and that's something that I pick up in a lot of these kids. They don't feel like they're valued."
