-Mary Sladich, director of The Clark County Aging Office's Food Pantry, was presented with a check for $1,000 by The Highground volunteers Ken Jennings and Mary Dick

This donation was raised at the annual volunteer appreciation potluck through an auction and 50/50 raffle.

Sladich said the department delivered several hundred boxes of food to the elderly during the holidays. Most of these folks range in age from 85 to 100 and are still able to remain in their homes because of the services provided by the Department of Aging.

The support from The Highground volunteers is greatly appreciated and will enable the agency to continue reaching out to the elderly in the community.

The previous week, The Highground delivered a large amount of food items to the Department of Aging that had been collected during The Highground's volunteer appreciation potluck.
