RUDY CLAIMS TO HAVE LEFT WIFE ON ROAD BEFORE

Meanwhile, the investigation into Christine Rudy’s disappearance continues. Chief Deputy Jim Backus says Shaun Rudy has told authorities this isn’t the first time he’d left his wife on the road after an argument. Rudy told authorities that he and his wife would often take “roadtrips” to areas of interest around the state. During a recent trip to southwest Wisconsin, just days before her disappearance, he says he left his wife, who is six-months pregnant, to walk eight-miles to a church. Rudy called Shaun, and he says he picked her up the next day.
The Sheriff’s Department is working with Crawford County authorities to verify Shaun’s statements.
Backus says investigators are growing “more concerned” about Christine’s safety and acknowledge it’s unlikely she could survive if she’s been outside this long; but they still hold out hope she’ll be found alive.
