Plans for Loyal Grocery Store Fall Through

It doesn’t look like Loyal will be getting a grocery store anytime soon.
This week’s TRG reports an interested party has backed out of plans to re-open the vacant store, despite a petition drive that netted 731 signatures this summer.
The former Loyal IGA building has been empty for about four years.
Loyal Mayor Dave Williams says a grocer that operates other stores in central Wisconsin was interested in locating in Loyal, but had concerns with the condition of the building, and the investment it would take to get it running.
Community Bank of Central Wisconsin owns the building.
