2 KILLED; 2 INJURED IN CRASH NEAR LOYAL

Clark County authorities are investigating a two vehicle traffic crash that took the lives of two people. At about 2:30 pm, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of 26th Rd and Pelsdorf Avenue, in the township of Loyal.
Initial investigation indicates that one vehicle was northbound on Pelsdorf Avenue as the other was westbound on 26th Rd. The northbound vehicle apparently disregarded the traffic control sign, causing the crash. Both drivers were ejected from the vehicles, and pronounced dead at the scene by the Clark County Coroner. Two minor children were transported to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield where their condition is unknown.
The Loyal Fire and Ambulance Departments and Ministry Spirit’s Air and Ground Medical Transport responded to the scene. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation into this crash. This is the sixth and seventh fatalities for Clark County in 2011. Names are being withheld pending notification of families.
