Vince Biegel of Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, has been selected to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, joining an elite group of All-Americans. Those selected will play in the game on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The annual East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 1:00 p.m. EST and will be presented by American Family Insurance. The game will feature the nation’s top 90 high school football players. A University of Wisconsin recruit, Vince joins an exclusive list of state players who have been selected to participate in the event including Jake Keefer of Baldwin-Woodville last year. Biegel was recently selected as a unanimous First Team All-Conference pick in the VFA-South as well as the league's Linebacker of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He will receive strong consideration for All-State honors once again as well. Biegel's grandfather is former Wisconsin Rapids High School coach Ken Biegel, who was at the school from 1976 to 1999 and is 13th on the all-time wins list in Wisconsin history.
