MEN FACE CHARGES AFTER POACHING PROBE

Two area men will likely face numerous charges in connection with a significant deer poaching operation.
A tipster supplied authorities with the license plate number of a vehicle that he suspected of shining deer and then shooting them in the Humbird area.
Officials spotted the vehicle shining after 10 p.m. on Friday night. Upon pulling it over, they found a dead deer in the back of the truck, two sets of antlers, a bow and arrow and a .22 caliber rifle.
Further investigation turned up evidence of at least eleven dead deer including two bucks.
The pair hasn’t been charged yet and the investigation is ongoing.
DNR officials remind residents to call authorities if they suspect people of shining and shooting deer.
