WEATHER HEADACHES FOR POWER COMPANIES
Thursday, November 17th, 2005 -- 10:20 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Wednesday’s wintery blast took a toll on area power companies. John Knox, director of member services for Clark Electric Cooperative, says members have experienced blinking lights, low-power and complete power outages as the weather reeked havoc with transmission lines.

"Transmission lines are the big lines that come from the power plants," Knox explains. "These power lines were having problems because of the wind and the icing."

It’s unclear how many Clark Electric and Xcel customers were affected by the outages. Knox hoped crews could restore power by Wednesday night.
