TOWN OF HIXON CHILD KILLED BY SKID STEER

The Clark County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 19 month old that was run over by a skid steer on a family farm. According to a press release the Sheriff's Department received a 9-1-1 call on Thursday, Sept. 8th at about 5:05 pm of a 19 month old child being run over by a skid steer. Initial investigation reveals a family relative was operating the skid steer moving round hay bales. The child was not seen and was run over by the skid steer. The operator was unaware that the infant was run over. The Owen-Withee Fire and Ambulance Service responded. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer. Investigation is continuing. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family.
