It’s going to be a busy weekend for The Highground Veterans Memorial Park.
It’s time for the annual Ride To Remember motorcycle rally. The opening ceremony will be Friday night at 5:30 p.m. at the Highground. It’s will feature a ceremony and live music and is open to the public. The actual ride is Saturday, with a morning breakfast buffet available at the Neillsville American Legion beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Registration for the motorcycle rides begins at 10:00 a.m. here at WCCN’s Wisconsin Pavilion. There are three guided rides that depart at 11:00 am, 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm.
Then on Sunday, a Wisconsin Rapids woman will embark on a 30-mile walk from Pittsville to the park. Lori Nordman will leave the Cenex convenience store at 7 a.m. and walk along STH 13 and STH 73 all the way to the Highground. She expects to arrive sometime around 5 p.m.
Nordman encourages anyone that wants to join her or make a pledge to the Highground to do so.
