BACK TO WORK AT MARSHFIELD DOOR
Thursday, July 14th, 2011 -- 1:18 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A few days after a major explosion shut down the plant, operations at Marshfield DoorSystems were expected to return to normal Thursday.

A pressurized tank exploded Monday, sending shrapnel one-half mile away.

The timing of the explosion couldn’t have been better. It happened at 3:20 a.m., during a shift change in that part of the plant. Investigators say the timing likely prevented more injuries, or worse.

Only one minor injury was reported. The blast caused an estimated $3-million worth of damage.

The Marshfield NewsHerald reports that parts of the facility came back on-line on Tuesday, but all workers were scheduled to return to work Thursday.
