A major Marshfield employer has been sold … again.

Masonite Incorporated headquartered in Tampa, Fla. announced wednesday it purchased Marshfield Door Systems.

Financial details have not been disclosed and the deal in contingent on regulatory approval.

Marshfield Door Systems CEO Don Bergman will remain CEO once Masonite takes over.

The impact on the company’s 600 employees remains uncertain.

The company was established in 1890 as Roddis Lumber Company. The plant began making doors in 1908, and was eventually sold to Weyerhauser in 1960.

Marshfield Door Systems was formed in 2000, after a group of local investors joined forces with Wind Point Partners of Chicago to buy out Weyerhauser.
