POSTERS: WILD PIGS WANTED DEAD, NOT ALIVE
Wednesday, October 19th, 2005 -- 11:43 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The D-N-R says feral pigs are growing in numbers and now roam through 27 Wisconsin counties – including Clark. The Department of Natural Resources has created "wanted posters" so hunters can recognize them and shoot them on sight. The pigs, which aren't native to the state, are possibly the offspring of escaped domesticated swine. The D-N-R is asking hunters to help control the pig population during the upcoming deer hunt season. Landowners can shoot the pigs on their own property without a license. Others can shoot the pigs if they have at least one small game license and permission of the landowner.
