POWERBALL 'FRENZY'

Wisconsin lottery officials have installed additional terminals at convenience stores and gas stations along the Illinois border because of the extra traffic created by a record Powerball jackpot.

Odds of winning jackpot are 1:146,000,00, but that isn't stopping those who think the odds are worth a shot.

Powerball is played in 26 other states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands has been rolling over since August tenth. A $340-million dollar jackpot in Wisconsin would net $232-million after taxes in installments.

"Almost everyone, literally, buys one," says Steve Mabie, shift leader at Kwik Trip in Neillsville. "And if you suggest it, they say 'oh yeah'."

"Now it's beginning to be a frenze, actually."
