FILM CREW VISITS THE HIGHGROUND

The Highground Veterans Memorial Park is coming to a television set near you.
A professional film-making crew spent three days at the state’s largest veterans memorial park over the weekend.
"There have been guests that have come into The Highground who had friends that weren't able to make it here and wanted to purchase a video so they could show them what The Highground was all about," explains Joyce Witt, Highground events.
They went looking for a filmmaking crew and came across MDR Video of Apple Valley, MN. One of the owners of the company, Chris Edman, is the son of a Marine, but wasn’t able to serve himself. He volunteered to put the DVD together—free of charge.
The final product should be a lot more than just pictures.
"It's not going to be (just) about all the tributes," Witt notes, "he interviewed 10 volunteers, he went down and videoed trails."
The DVD will be available in the gift shop in fall, and Edman might also try to get Wisconsin Public Television to air it.
