Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Governor Jim Doyle announced Monday twenty-seven Wisconsin dairy producers received $88,882 in Grow Wisconsin Dairy Team grants to modernize and expand their dairy operations. In our area, Bruce Gulcynski of Thorp was awarded a $2,362 Dairy Farm Modernization Grant. The funds will assist with design and engineering for a new milking parlor. Grant funding is still available as part of the second year of the Value Added Dairy Initiative.

DATCP encourages dairy producers, processors and local organizations interested in growing their dairy operations to apply. Grant monies will be awarded until program funds are exhausted.
