Folks traveling in the Marshfield area can expect some major delays and detours over the next few months.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has a laundry list of traffic advisories associated with the USH 10 upgrade.

USH 10 between Wood County BB and Stadt Road is getting a $16.6-million overhaul that will include the realignment and expansion of the highway South of the existing road. When the project is complete, there will be an interchange at the intersection of new USH 10 and Wood County A.

Crews will also expand WIS 13 to four lanes between US 10 and 29th Street. New bridges will be constructed on Washington Avenue and Wood County A. Motorists can expect to encounter one lane in each direction on US 10 between Washington Avenue and Stadt Road. Crews will be working along the west side of WIS 13 (Veterans Parkway) from County A to 29th Street; and County A south of the intersection with existing US 10 to Mill Creek Road is currently scheduled to close on Monday, May 2. After the closure, traffic will be detoured via County N and WIS 13.

There’s also a $14-million project that will upgrade USH 10 to a 4-lane expressway from Stadt Road to White Oak Road—that’s about 4 miles. Work also includes reconstructing the intersections of Wood County T and Day Road with US 10, constructing several frontage roads, and constructing new bridges on US 10 at Mill Creek. During construction, US 10 will remain open to two lanes of traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter minimal delays and traffic impacts.

These projects are scheduled to be complete in November.
