Wisconsin’s population grew about 6% between 2000 and 2010.

According to the newly released figures from the U. S. Census Bureau, Wisconsin’s population climbed to 5.69-million in 2010, due largely to a 74-percent jump in the Latino population.

The 2010 count showed there were 336,056 Hispanics in the state, an increase of 143,135 from 2000. Latinos now account for 5.9-percent of Wisconsin's total population.

Clark County’s Hispanic population tripled over the past 10 years, jumping from 404 in 2000 to 1,292 in 2010. Hispanics account for about 3.7% of the county’s population.

Whites account for nearly 96% of the county’s total.
