NEW TWIST IN KOULA MURDER CASE

A website has been launched in an effort to raise money for a Neillsville graduate accused of killing his parents.

Authorities say 41-year-old Eric Koula of West Salem shot his parents, Merna and Dennis Koula, at their home outside of La Crosse in a scheme to win a sizeable inheritance.

Family and friends say Eric couldn’t have committed the crimes and have launched www.erickoulasfreedom.com asking visitors to donate money to get him out of jail. The goal is to raise $250,000 to “help free Eric and exonerate him from these charges.”

The website also encourages “If you are one of the people who did commit these murders or you know who did please find a way to do the right thing and come forward.”

Koula is scheduled to appear in court in late April. He is scheduled to stand trial in early July.
