ROENZ REQUESTS NEW JUDGE
Friday, March 4th, 2011 -- 10:01 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
A former church treasurer from Neillsville is requesting a new judge for his theft case.
John Roenz is accused of stealing around $140,000 from Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville.
According to personnel in the Clark County Clerk of Courts office, Roenz has filed a request for a substitute judge in the matter. Roenz waived his preliminary hearing earlier this week. An arraignment, where he will enter a plea to the charges, is set for next Thursday.
Judge Jon Counsell will likely oversee that hearing and then turn the case over to another judge.
