Mark Jones of Abby Vans, who is contracted to run the popular Share Ride program, said the taxi continues to be extremely popular in the area – but gas prices are a bit of a concern. The City Council raised the mileage rate, which applies to any trip over 5.9-miles from $1 to $1.25; the adult fair was also nudged up a quarter to $3 but the $1.50 senior and child rate was left as is.
