While they’re hoping to break ground next month, the Central Wisconsin Agribusiness Innovation Center (CWAIC) in Owen is still looking for money—a lot of money.

According to minutes from a recent Clark County Finance Committee meeting, representatives from the proposed center are asking the county for $2-million in “possible bonding or leasing” assistance.

They say they’re about $5-million short of the funds needed for the project.

Representatives said that, with financial backing from Clark County, other financial institutions may provide low or no-interest loans.

The Finance Committee meets on Wednesday morning.
