ICE, FOG LEAD TO TRAVEL TROUBLE

Icy roads and foggy skies led to a few serious accidents around the area Wednesday morning.

Chief Deputy Jim Backus of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department says one person was injured after a train struck a car on County Highway T, north of Withee. It happened at around 6:30 p.m. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. They were transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where their condition is not known.

Then at 7:30, there was a car vs. semi accident on STH 98 between Loyal and Spencer. One person was transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital with unknown injuries.

Serious accidents were also reported in Marathon County near Spencer, and Wood County near Pittsville.
