ROENZ APPEARS IN COURT

A Neillsville man accused of stealing around $140,000 from a local church made his initial appearance in Clark County Circuit Court Monday morning.
John Roenz, 62, is accused of stealing the money from Calvary Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer. He’s also facing six counts of income tax fraud.
Judge Jon Counsell set a $2,500 signature bond for both cases.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 1 at 1:15.
