NEILLSVILLE/GREENWOOD WINS REGIONAL

The WIAA Regional Wrestling Tournaments were held around the area yesterday. At the field house in Neillsville, the Neillsville/Greenwood wrestlers punched their ticket to team sectionals on Tuesday night at Baldwin-Woodville High School by winning the Regional with 266 points. Medford was 2nd with 209 points, Abbotsford /Colby finished 3rd with 157 points and Stanley/Boyd Thorp was 4th with 136 points. The Neillsville/Greenwood Wrestling Boosters are offering a spectator bus to Tuesday night’s team sectional in Baldwin-Woodville. To sign up you can call the high school office or Donna Anding.

103 - Phillip Opelt - 1st
112 - Zach Friemoth - 2nd
119 - Jared Boon - 1st
125 - Michael Chadwick - 1st
130 - Kyle Wilson - 2nd
140 - Tanner Zoromski - 1st
152 - Damien Luchterhand - 1st
189 - Dan Schoen - 1st
285 - Tyler Hartung - 2nd
Several other regionals were also held around the area yesterday as well. In Division 1, Wausau West and Wisconsin Rapids are headed to team sectionals, in Division 3 Edgar got by Stratford by 3 and a half points to advance to team sectionals and Cadott was also a regional champion as well.
