GRANTON MAN DIES IN NEILLSVILLE CRASH

We have more information about a fatal accident on Neillsville’s east side Thursday afternoon.
52-year-old Joseph Goergen, Granton, was killed after colliding with a logging truck. According to the Neillsville Police Department, Goergen was operating a pick-up truck that was eastbound on USH 10. He swerved through the westbound lane and onto the shoulder and then back across the westbound lane, where he was struck by an oncoming logging truck near the intersection of USH 10 and Fairgrounds Avenue.
Goergen was ejected from the vehicle.
Passersby performed CPR on him and he was transported to Memorial Medical Center where he died.
The accident remains under investigation and an autopsy was scheduled for today.
