BUSY THURSDAY FOR NEILLSVILLE FD

A busy morning for the The Neillsville Fire Department. First, they were called to the scene of a chimney fire. According to Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Strangfeldt, the call came in at around 3:36 a.m. The fire was located at W7586 Poertner Rd. in the Town of Hewitt. The crew spent around an hour-and-a-half on the scene. There was some fire damage to the kitchen of the home.
Then at 7:55, they were called to the scene of a 2-car accident just west of Neillsville at the corner of Hwy 10 and Sidney Avenue– two people were transported to the Memorial Medical Center; the extent of their injuries is not known at this time. The crew spent roughly 45-minutes at the accident scene.
