Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

The Neillsville boys basketball team outscored Marshfield Columbus 40- 26 in the second half but came up one point short as they lost to the Dons 52-51 last night. The Warriors (6-9, 6-6) trailed 26-11 at halftime and by as many as 21 in the second half but thanks to 17 second half points by Tyler Ehlen and an aggressive defense, Neillsville was able to get back into it. Marshfield Columbus (11-4, 10-2) was able to hit freethrows down the stretch to hang on for the win. Ehlen led the Warriors with 17 points, Matt Dux added 11. The Dons were led by Tyler Derfus who had a game high 18. Travis Pischel added 13 points and Paul Selz had 12. Neillsville made only 7 of 17 from the freethrow line. The Warriors will host Granton on Tuesday at the Fieldhouse.
