HATFIELD AREA HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE

Crews from 4 area fire departments spent the night fighting a house fire outside of Hatfield.
Merrillan Fire Chief Al Lunderville says they were called to the rental home located at W7503 STH 95—that’s about a mile west of the Black River bridge—after 10 p.m. Thursday night.
An attached 2-car garage was already fully engulfed in flames and the fire had reached the house.
Crews from the Hatfield, Alma Center, Black River Falls and Neillsville Fire Departments helped fight the fire until around 4 a.m. this morning.
Lunderville says the cause is undetermined, but there was a woodstove in the garage. No one was injured and the structure is believed to be a complete loss.
