A 12 year old girl is facing charges after she allegedly stabbed a substitute teacher in the head with a pencil.

According to the Jackson County Chronicle, the seventh-grade student jabbed the 58 year old substitute teacher in the upper right side of her head with a pencil after fifth hour class concluded November 16th.

The teacher complained of suffering a welt and headache from the incident.

The student left the room laughing and then bragged about it in the hallway.

The student was suspended from school for three days, and a charge of aggravated battery was referred to the Department of Human Services.
