While Winter won’t officially start until later this month, “meteorological winter” started yesterday.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse says it was a warmer, wetter autumn then usual. We didn’t see as much Autumn snowfall, either.

From September 1 through November 30, La Crosse had an average temperature of 50.7 degrees. This was 1.1 degrees above the normal of 49.6 degrees. The average high temperature was 60.8 degrees which was 1.3 degrees warmer than the normal.

The average low temperature was 40.6 degrees which was 0.9 of a degree warmer than the average. Rain-wise, around 11-inches were recorded; that’s about 3.5-inches more than normal. And only a trace of snow was recorded during the Autumn months, around 4.6-inches less than normal.
