MAN CRITICAL AFTER FATAL CRASH

The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash early Monday morning remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. Monday on State Highway 29, at the intersection of Highway P. That’s between Owen and Curtiss.

The initial investigation indicates a vehicle operated by 30-year-old Jesse Schellinger of Medford was north bound on Highway P. He failed to yield to a westbound semi, striking it behind the rear duels of the tractor. 33-year-old Lisa Heart of Medford died at the scene. Schellinger is currently in intensive care.

The semi was being driven by Clay A. Frahm, 43, of Athens, Wis. He was not hurt in the crash.
