STANLEY APPROVES GOOSE HUNT
Monday, August 29th, 2005 -- 11:05 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

The city of Stanley has approved a goose hunt. Seriously. The Stanley City Council recently gave approval to a hunt in the city limits in the hopes they can reduce the expanding flock of geese that now call the southeastern Chippewa County community home. The geese have left a troubling amount of manure along a public beach and campground. It has reached the point that the public hasn’t been able to use the facility. A church even had to move a baptism to a different location. The hunt will take place September 1st through the 15th in Chapman Park and a small lake and pond on private property.
