A 46-year-old Neillsville man is fighting for his life after a fire on Saturday morning.

According to Police Reports, Bruce LeBlanc was carrying some gas cans in his garage at 507 West 7th Street when the cigarette he was smoking dropped on one of the cans. That touched off an explosion and fire.

LeBlanc was airlifted to the UW Health Center Burn Unit in Madison where he’s listed in critical condition this morning.

The building and its contents were a complete loss, and there was some damage to the home, as well.
