ROSANDICH SAYS HE'S NOT BEHIND WRITE-IN EFFORT
Monday, September 13th, 2010 -- 11:34 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
It appears the field of candidates for Clark County Sheriff is getting even more crowded.
There are already five declared candidates for the position currently held by Republican Louis Rosandich.
Rosandich planned to retire after his current term, and his name won't appear on the ballot, but he says he's aware of an effort to write in his name. While he's not behind the effort and will do no campaigning, he's "humbled" by it and would serve another term if he gets the votes.
Rosandich's name won't appear on the ballot Tuesday, but Clark County Clerk Christina Jensen says, if he gets the most votes for either party, she believes his name would appear on the general election ballot in November.
The ballot Tuesday will feature Democrats Scott Haines and Jeff Parker and Republicans Tony Trunkel, Greg Herrick and Gary Leichtman. The top vote-getter in each party will appear on the November ballot.
