UPDATE: HEARING SET ON SEWER RATE INCREASE
Monday, August 30th, 2010 -- 8:25 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Neillsville residents will probably see an increase in their water and sewer rates by the end of this year.

The City Council already elected to move forward with the process to raise sewer rates by 15% and water rates by 19%.

Both proposals must have public hearings. The water rate increase also requires Public Service Commission approval.

City Clerk Rex Roehl says the public hearing on the sewer rate increase will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28th. The hearing date for the water rate increase hasn’t been set.

The plan is still to implement the rate increases for the 4th quarter of this year.
