MEMORIAL MED. UNVEILS ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY

It took a bit longer than expected, but Memorial Medical Center is ready to show off their new assisted living center.
There will be a Grand Opening for Sunset Gardens Assisted Living Facility on Thursday, August 26th from 4 to 7 p.m.
"We have eleven single rooms, two double rooms. We do have a waiting list. We can't formally approve people on the waiting list until we're approved assisted living facility," explains CEO Scott Polenz.
Assisted living facilities strive for a more homey feel, compared to nursing homes.
"We really try to make them homey. People can bring in their own furniture. We'll have meals provided. We'll have doctors available 24-7," he says.
Officials hoped Sunset Gardens would be open by September of last year, but they kept running into red tape.
