NEILLSVILLE'S HERITAGE DAYS TO MOVE
Thursday, August 12th, 2010 -- 9:12 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Neillsville’s annual summer festival will probably move next year.

The base of the Heritage Days operation has always been downtown, with the beer tent the unofficial headquarters.

But Dan Herbrand, co-chair of the organizing committee, says the group recently voted unanimously to move the festival to Schuster Park.

The downtown location lacked space, and they’ve heard from people concerned too much of the focus was on alcohol consumption, Herbrand says.

The brainstorming for next year has already begun. The new location could lead to new offerings, such as a golf outing, skateboard demonstrations and possible “Taste of Neillsville” event.

There will still be a parade, but the route might change, he says.
