NEILLSVILLE COUNCIL TO EXPLORE RATE INCREASES
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 -- 11:16 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Neillsville’s City Council will learn more about a possible utility rate increase tonight.

The group will hear from the city’s engineer and auditor on the fiscal shape of the water and sewer utilities.

Both have been losing money, so a rate increase will likely be needed to close the budget gap.

The water rate increase will have to be okayed by the Public Service Commission and the sewer rate increase will have to go to a public hearing before being approved.
