WIAA STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

The 115th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Track and Field Championships and the 40th Girls Track and Field Championships will be held this Friday and Saturday, June 4-5, at the Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
MEET INFORMATION: The meet features two sessions Friday. Division 1 events begin at 9:30 a.m. with the competition proceeding in the order of events. Division 2 and 3 events begin at 3 p.m. The competition resumes Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The order of the finals for each event Saturday begins with Division 3, followed by Divisions 2 and 1, respectively. ________________________________________________________________ LAST YEAR’S TEAM RESULTS-BOYS: Arrowhead won the Division 1 championship with 52 points. Menomonee Falls was runner-up with 37 points. The Wautoma/Faith Christian Academy co-op won the Division 2 title, compiling 35 points, which was two more than West Salem. In Division 3, Fennimore won its first boys track and field title by scoring 38 points, eight more than runner-up Darlington. DIVISION 1 NOTES-BOYS: D.C. Everest leads the Division in the number of qualifiers with 18 competing, including relays and alternates. DIVISION 2 NOTES-BOYS: West Salem has the most representation with 16 qualifiers, which includes relays and alternates. DIVISION 3 NOTES-BOYS: Hilbert has 15 qualifiers including relays and alternates to lead the division. ________________________________________________________________ LAST YEAR’S TEAM RESULTS-GIRLS: In Division 1, Milwaukee Bradley won the championship with 55 points after placing runner-up in 2008. Brookfield Central finished runner-up with 37.5 points after winning the title in 2008. Arcadia captured its second consecutive title in Division 2 with 57 points, six points in front of West Salem. Newman Catholic won the Division 3 championship with 54 points. Edgar finished second with 50.5 points.
DIVISION 1 NOTES-GIRLS: Kimberly has the most representation in the meet with 20 competitors qualified, which includes relay teams and alternates. DIVISION 2 NOTES-GIRLS: Four schools share the distinction of having the most qualifiers with 13 competing, including relays and alternates. Those are Monroe, Notre Dame, Tomahawk and Wisconsin Dells. DIVISION 3 NOTES-GIRLS: Darlington heads the list of qualifiers with 16, including relays and alternates
