FORMER NEILLSVILLE COUNCIL WOMAN, HUSBAND FOUND DEAD

Details are sketchy surrounding the deaths of a La Crosse area couple with ties to Neillsville.
68-year-old Dennis Koula and his wife, 65-year-old Merna Koula, were found dead at around 8:50 a.m. Monday by their son.
The son went to check on his parents after he was not able to reach them over the phone.
Investigators say the two likely died of something other than natural causes, they’ve not ruled out foul play and autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday.
The Koula's formerly owned Valley View Ford in West Salem. Merna served on the Neillsville City Council from 1992 to 1999, before the couple moved to the La Crosse area.
