Friday is a furlough day for most state agencies. Offices are also closed on Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.
As part of a budget-fix, Governor Jim Doyle ordered eight government-wide furlough days. Friday is the fourth of 8, which are spread over two years.
Department of Motor Vehicle offices, the vital records office and Department of Natural Resources service centers are among the offices closing Friday.
State parks and historical sites are among a smattering of state offices that will remain open.
