The owner and CEO of a Marshfield sausage manufacturer has passed away.

Russell Wenzel of the Harry C. Wenzel & Sons, Inc. sausage company passed away Monday. He was 61.

He was just inducted into the Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame, housed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Wenzel was the fourth generation in the family sausage manufacturing business.

Under his leadership the firm has continued to grow and is celebrating its 59th year of operation. Today, it makes more than 30 products under its own name and manufactures custom sausage for four other brand names.
