ADMINISTRATOR MAY BE FULL-TIME AGAIN IN GREENWOOD

The Greenwood School Board might elect to restructure the school’s administration when they meet Monday.

Current superintendent Dr. David Westhoff’s one-year contract will expire on June 30th. He’s elected not to stay on for another year.

Westhoff was hired to work 160 days; a full-time administrator works 232. On top of his administrative role, he also served as the principal of the elementary school.

At a meeting Wednesday night, Westhoff said the board discussed the possibility of making the administrator/elementary principal a full-time position. One board member was absent, so the board took no action. They are expected to act at a special meeting Monday night.

The board may also look at moving the district office to the elementary school, or eventually closing the elementary school, and moving those students to the high school and middle school campus.
