Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

The Dewey Poeschel era is officially underway in Neillsville.

Poeschel was sworn in as mayor Tuesday night, along with new 3rd ward alderman Jerry Quicker and 4th ward alderman Dale Berger.

Poeschel’s first task was to fill the open spots on committees and commissions. While most of the panels will remain nearly the same, Poeschel did make a few changes.

Sue Voight and Robin Harder will replace Peggy Grap and Barb Miller on the Parks and Recreation Board.

Tim Voight replaces Dan Kwosek on the Economic Development Commision.

The Heritage Days Committee will also get new leadership. It had been chaired by former mayor Diane Murphy. She’s off the committee, replaced by Julie Cousell. Dan Herbrand will now chair the committee.
