A missing person case had a happy ending Saturday.

According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, a Town of Weston family called authorities late Saturday afternoon, seeking help finding a 12-year-old boy.

He walked away from the house at around 11 a.m. that morning. The family had conducted a search, but was unable to find him.

A number of agencies responded and prepared to do a full-scale search. Among them was the Colby-Abby Police Department, who brought a search dog.

Meyer said the boy was found within 15 minutes. He was unharmed.
