DOUBLE-DIGIT UNEMPLOYMENT COMMON AROUND AREA, STATE

Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development is out with their local unemployment numbers for February.
Unemployment rose in 41 counties. Rusk County had the highest rate at 14.7 percent, up from 14.4 percent in January.
Closer to home, Clark County’s rate moved up one-tenth-of-one-percent to 12.5%. The county has the 15th highest unemployment rate among the state’s 72 counties.
Wood County’s rate actually dipped one-tenth to 10.2%, putting it 41st in the state. Eau Claire County as the 3rd best rate in the state at 7.6%; Jackson County is ranked 32nd highest, at 10.5% and Taylor County has the 2nd worst rate in the state, at 14.7%, up nine-tenths since January.
