AREA GIRLS BB PLAYERS ON ALL-STATE LIST

The 2010 Wisconsin All-State Girls Basketball team was announced and it includes some area players.
THIRD TEAM
Taylor Thomas, 6-0, Jr., Newman Catholic
FOURTH TEAM
Letaya Mulhern, 5-7, Sr., Osseo-Fairchild
HONORABLE MENTION
Heather Bowe, So., Eau Claire Regis
Abbie Anderson, Jr. Prentice
Taylor Varsho, So., Marshfield
Milwaukee Vincent's Nicole Griffin is the 2010 Associated Press Wisconsin state girls basketball Player of the Year, and Oostburg coach Lisa Immel has been named the state's girls Coach of the Year. The awards were determined by a statewide panel of media members. The 6-foot-6 Griffin averaged 17.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game, and came just short of leading the Vikings to what would have been their fourth straight state championship. She will play at Oklahoma next season. Immel found out she had cancer on Feb. 1 but didn't quit coaching while receiving chemotherapy treatments. Oostburg made it to the state tournament, losing to Cuba City in the Division 3 final.
