NEILLSVILLE F.D. CALLED TO GRASS FIRE

The Neillsville Fire Department was called to a grass fire Monday afternoon.
According to Fire Chief Matt Meyer, the fire was reported just before 1 p.m. It was located on Owen Avenue, just north of CTH H in the Town of Weston.
The crew spent about one hour and 40 minutes fighting the fire, which consumed about 7 acres of grassland.
Meyer believes a rubbish pile that someone threw ashes on triggered the fire.
